Charlie and I met in college at DePauw University in an Indiana small town. While we did not date in college, we attended the same parties and had mutual friends. Years later, I got on a plane to visit a friend in Memphis and I ended next to Charlie's friend (and future groomsman) on the plane. Our friends groups ran into each other on multiple occasions, and our long distance relationship started that weekend. After almost three years of dating from Chicago and Memphis, I moved to Memphis and we got engaged four months later. I was caught completely off guard with the proposal (in a good way!), and Charlie used his grandmother's wedding ring to make my engagement ring. We decided on a "longer" engagement of 17 months, and we needed all that time! We planned the Chicago wedding from Memphis, and everything went absolutely perfectly. I found my Hayley Paige dress more than a year before the wedding and took a leap of faith when I ordered it in a color that had not been made for the dress before! We also found the most beautiful spread of seven different Hayley Paige Occasions dresses in burgundy.
