Soon after moving back to Miami from Gainesville (Go Gators!) in 2015, we were set up at my birthday/ Halloween party. I was walking in from trick or treating that night with a glass of wine in one hand and a Freddy Kruger claw in the other when he stood up from my parent's couch to introduce himself. Sparks flew immediately! I knew there was something special about him. We had such a great time at the party, it was as if we were the only two in the room. Despite that great night, we both returned back to our respective worlds. He went back to focusing on law school and I went back to coaching and teaching. However, as fate would have it, we got back in touch. Not long after, we went on our first date at Earl's Kitchen and Bar and, not to be cliche, it was nothing short of magical. He swept me off my feet and I knew right away that, despite my negative experiences with men, I was not about to be silly enough to let him go. From the beginning of our date, it was as if the spark from the Halloween party continued. Before we knew it, we were talking excitedly about our hopes and passions and, as in most love stories, the rest is history. Since then, our relationship has been exciting, effortless, and full of surprises. We always support each other and make enough time to have fun too.
