Gabriella and Tim

06/09/2018

From the moment we got engaged, I always knew I wanted to get married in a Hayley Paige dress. I wanted something that was a bit different and that people would remember forever. I had originally fallen in love with the Decklyn gown but after seeing the Delta gown online, I knew I had to try it on. However, as it was in the new collection, the sample was touring around the UK and I had a 2-day window to try it on before it went back to America. So, I chased the dress from London all the way up to Derby in order to try it on. When I put it on, I knew straight away. It was everything I wanted from a dress and it was so me!

We got married in St George's Church at the bottom of our road. When we went up to the altar for the final blessing, everyone mentioned that the dress twinkled in the light that poured through the stained glass windows. After the ceremony, my new husband, Tim, drove us away in the Caterham car that he had built with his brother, Jon, our best man. The rest of our guests followed Silk Street, a New Orleans style brass band, and walked the 9-minute route to Tim's parents' garden where we drank champagne and ate canapes in the beautiful grounds before going through to a pretty marquee for dinner and speeches. A 26ft long floral installation hung above our 26 seater top table which was the focal point for the entire marquee. After the meal, a curtain was lifted to reveal a twinkly dance floor under a star cloth ceiling and people danced the night away to our fantastic band called Light it Up. Jack's Kitchen set up a wood-fired pizza oven in the garden ready to serve delicious midnight munchies for hungry dancers. The day was everything we had hoped it would be. We never wanted it to end and I definitely didn't want to ever take my dress off!
