Chelsea and Tyler
Tyler and I matched on Tinder six years ago. We both attended West Virginia University so he decided to reach out. He later then planned our first date and took me to a Washington Capitals Hockey Game. That night we had the best time and it was like we were friends for years. From then on, we spent weekends hanging out in Northern Virginia. After a year of dating we moved in together. After moving back to my home town of Annapolis, Tyler felt ready and decided he would propose downtown. With permission from my family, Tyler got down on one knee and proposed to me in the snow on December 9, 2017.
After dating five years, Tyler and I married each other on the Eastern Shore of Maryland this past summer (July 27, 2019). The weekend brought all our family and friends from all over to stay on site at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Resort. Having the whole weekend to catch up and spend time with our loved ones is what I appreciated the most. It was a warm summer day so while the bridesmaids popped champagne and started to get ready, everyone else made their way to the pool. Our glam squad turned out one after another and before I new it my mother was helping me into my dress. It was such a special moment to share with only her. She had been saving her wedding veil for 30 years for me and seeing her tear up looking at me will forever be a cherished memory. The rest of the day went by so fast. Thank God for a photographer! Tyler and I met for a first look to have that one moment together, and let me tell you, he really loved the plunging neckline of the Haruki gown haha. Our ceremony was short and sweet and we spent cocktail hour chatting with everyone! It was very important to Tyler and I that we enjoy ourselves. Our most important thing we have come to love at weddings, which we have been to 23 together in five years, is and open bar, good food and a band. We spent the rest of the on the dance floor and I wouldn’t have had it any other way! Even Tyler’s cowboy hat from his bachelor party in Austin made it to the dance floor where we killed it dancing to “Old Town Road.” Before I knew it, I was chowing down on mini tacos in my dress (my ultimate dream) and getting ready for our exit. The day went by so fast but it was everything I could have ever imagined and more. Now I’m just excited to see where life takes us!
